Consumer Services

CRBAfrica provides the consumer services to the customers to allow them track and monitor their Credit File with respect to enquiries and reported information.  The customer registers and subscribes for the services and receives automated alerts and notifications should any change or enquiry be recorded on their Credit File.  This is designed to give the customer full control and ownership of their Credit File while minimizing the risk of misuse of their credit information for instance should their identity information be stolen.  CRBAfrica Consumer services are accessible on a pre-registration and subscription basis.

Customer Right of Access

CRBAfrica consumer rights permits the data subject (an individual or company) of any reported data to view in order to ascertain its accuracy if:

  • They have been denied credit due to information held by CRBAfrica on their credit file in the last 30 days, and have been issued an Adverse Action Notice.
  • A FREE copy of their credit report if they have not obtained a free copy in the last twelve months as per CRB regulations.
  • A consumer may purchase a copy of his/her credit report held by CRBAfrica at any time for his/her personal use.


The CRB by law only permits to disclose information to the bona fide customer, thus the procedure for access your Credit File requires that CRBAfrica verifies that the request done is by the bona fide customer. To access your credit file:

  1. Obtain the Individual Credit Report Request Form from our offices or download form our website
  2. Fill and submit the request form together with the required documentations for verification and authentication
  3. CRBAfrica will generate and deliver your credit file in the most convenient way. Either via email, postal delivery or physical presentation

Disputed Information

In case of a dispute on the information held on your credit file or you wish to you’re your personal information corrected or updated, you are required to present these disputes in writing by filling in an Individual Dispute Form, citing the disputed  item  and attaching any documentary evidence supporting the position. CRBAfrica dispute resolution procedures require that all complaints and or disputes are logged on the Credit File and referred to the reporting institution by way of a Dispute Notice within 48 hours of receipt.
